Flow-tools RPM Distribution Page
Flow-tools
Flow-tools is library and a collection of programs used to collect,
send, process, and generate reports from NetFlow data. The tools can be
used together on a single server or distributed to multiple servers for
large deployments. The flow-toools library provides an API for development
of custom applications for NetFlow export versions 1,5,6 and the 14 currently
defined version 8 subversions. A Perl and Python interface have been
contributed and are included in the distribution. Flow-tools is
distributed under a BSD form of license.
Flow-tools Inter.net Packages
This is a package against the flow-tools package developed at Ohio State
primarily by Mark Fullmer. This package contains a number of scripts and
programs that allow a user to create billing, bandwidth monitoring and
intrusion detection systems using flowtools. Flowtools is a tool that
collects CISCO netflow export files and organizes them. The Inter.netPH
contribs contains tools such as a new flow-as-if for easier AS analysis. It
also contains flow-split that enables separation of netflow files into
different files based on a configuration file and many others. It also
contains flow-iptime which allows the network administrator to determine
exact traffic details for a particular time. This package was jointly
developed by William Emmanuel S. Yu of the Ateneo de Manila University
and Miguel A. Paraz of Inter.net Philippines. A number of extensions such
as 95 percentile, SPEC File and new summary generating scripts were added at
SVIC.
