Objective

The system's purpose is to provide accurate and distributed time servers to synchronize the clocks of computers connected to the Ateneo network. The University can therefore follow a single time that is synchronized with international reference clocks.

General Description

In cooperation with the Manila Observatory, the CNG maintains a dedicated time server that is synchronized by GPS satellite signals. Two other computers are synchronized through the Internet and provide redundancy.

These three servers synchronize the times of the University's core servers and the gateways located in all the major local area networks on campus. A computer connected to one of these networks can get synchronization from its corresponding gateway.

Synchronizing to Ateneo de Manila Network Time

In order for a computer to synchronize its clock to Ateneo Network Time, a client program needs to be installed and configured. Instructions on configuring the client program can be found here.
